Gather Critical Data from Future Visitors Online
At barrsecurity.com, parents, vendors and volunteers can have their background checked and submit a photo to appear on their photo ID. Requesting the future visitor to submit to an online background check leaves school personnel to simply monitor each visitor for a highly visible photo ID. If a visitor has not gone online for a background check, school personnel will use barrsecurity.com to produce a background check and photo ID for this new visitor.

Perform Criminal Background Checks
All visitors are checked against a national database of sex offenders maintained by the U.S. Department of Justice. You may demand a higher level of security, such as a felony check, for admission of employees, substitute teachers, vendors and volunteers.

Produce a Photo ID
A highly visible photo ID is produced by a photo printer attached to the school secretary's computer. A school map is laminated to the back of the photo, providing emergency exit information to all visitors. Before distributing the new photo ID, the data must be manually verified against the visitor's driver's license. Also attached to the secretary's computer, a bar code reader is used to check each visitor in and out, rechecking them against the sex offender database every time the bar code is scanned. This photo ID is good for the entire school year and usable at all schools that utilize Barr Security Visitor Management.

Each Visitor Pays Your School for Their Background Check.

The visitor submits his/her personal information and pays for a background check and photo ID at barrsecurity.com. This revenue is shared 50/50 between Barr Security and the school district. Each school is responsible for installing a 4x6 photo printer and a bar code scanner onto the school secretary's computer. These are standard items available from many sources. Each day, when we receive a parent’s payment, we will fax and/or email a list which contains information required for that service. (i.e. for school meals, we will send the student ID#, name, payment amount, and date of payment directly to the school.)

Comprehensive reporting allows for administrators to monitor activity from specific schools, payment programs and dates.
